Our mission starts at the heart of our three amazing academies – but that is just the beginning. We teach our pupils to have big ambitions and that is exactly what we have in mind for our Trust.
Already we have transformed the fortunes of our existing three East Manchester academies – Briscoe Lane, Seymour Road and Old Hall Drive – with our unique teacher-led curriculum and character-based Wise Owl approach to learning.
Now we want to be part of a bigger change. To the lives of our pupils, families, staff, communities, and to the education landscape nationally.

Our Values
R.E.S.P.E.C.T. sets Wise Owl apart from other Trusts. Not only is it at the heart of our well-received character programme, used across the country, it is at the heart of everything we do in every school, every day.
The character values of Resilience, Empathy, Self-Awareness, Positivity, Excellence, Communication and Teamwork are central to every lesson we teach.
Brought to life through characters including Romeo Resilience and Tanisha Teamwork, it means even our youngest pupils internalise positive character traits.
Our standards are high. Good behaviour is expected as the norm. But every day our pupils make us proud by going above and beyond when it comes to strength of character.
We see things differently
Where others see ‘barriers’ to education, we see challenges to be tackled together.
Where others see ‘disadvantaged’ schools, we see pupils who deserve not to be written off because of their postcode.
Where others see pupils ‘at risk of exclusion’ we see children who need to feel some inclusion.
And this is our mission. To grow a family of like-minded schools looking to transform the opportunities of all pupils, wherever they live and whatever life throws at them outside the school gates.
To change perceptions. To create aspirations and ambitions and to make sure all our pupils know there is no limit to what they can achieve.
Where the system isn’t working we re-write the rulebook, creating our own bespoke character-led curriculum, written by our own teachers. Designed to build positivity, confidence and self-belief by combining hands-on learning and team challenges with the whole range of core subjects. So our children know they can achieve anything, in or out of the classroom.
It’s an approach which has already reaped incredible results – not just in our schools but in hundreds across the UK who have adopted our work.
We are about character, it runs through everything we teach. But more than that, we care about Mind, Body and Soul, which is why we are committed to putting pupil and staff wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.
Pioneers in pupil mental health, we designed and implemented our own Wise Owl Wellbeing programme in early 2020, promoting mindfulness across the board. Helping our children to face head on whatever the world might have in store.
